The New York Library Association (NYLA) is the voice of the library community in New York. Westchester Library System (WLS) is one of New York State’s 23 public library systems which were established in 1958 by State Education Law. For 60 years, the partnership between WLS and the County’s 38 public libraries has provided Westchester residents with the best in library services, open access to technology, and free programming for anyone who lives, works or goes to school in the County. This strong partnership proves that there is strength in numbers; shared resources save libraries thousands of dollars and offer patrons more options that would be difficult, if not impossible, as independent stand-alone institutions.
